About this event

Shot of the Week: Six-Week Skills and Play Clinic

This clinic is for players who learn best by doing. Each one-hour session for the first five weeks focuses on a single shot or decision. You’ll learn the technique, drill it until it feels natural and then play out points built around it. Week 6 brings everything together in full match play, so you leave with sharper shots and the experience of using them under real game pressure.

How each session works (weeks 1-5):

Learn (10 minutes): the coach shows the shot and explains when and why to use it.

Drill (25 minutes): progressive drills that build consistency and confidence.

Play (25 minutes): live points with rules and scoring that reward using the shot of the week.

What you’ll work on:

Week 1, third shot: drive or drop? Hitting both shots, reading the return to choose the right one, then points that start with the third shot.

Week 2, the fourth-shot volley: handling your opponent’s third-shot drive. Positioning and executing compact swings that keep the ball and your opponents on the back foot!

Week 3, roll it or let it bounce? Deciding whether to roll-volley the ball out of the air or let it bounce for a dink or drop, then points built on that choice.

Week 4, the reset: taking hard shots soft into the kitchen from the transition zone, then points that start mid-court.

Week 5, the speed-up: picking the right ball to attack from the dink rally and where to aim it, then points that reward a smart speed-up.

Week 6, full match play: coached…
