Power Up: Six-Week Drives and Serves Clinic

About this event

Power Up: Six-Week Drives and Serves Clinic

This clinic is for players who want to hit with more pace without giving up control. Over six weeks you’ll learn where real power comes from: your legs, hips and core, not just your arm. Then you’ll apply it to your serve and your drives. Each session mixes clear technique work, high-rep drills and live play, so you can hit hard, keep it in and use your power to set up winning points.

What you’ll work on:

Week 1, the power foundation: stance, unit turn, weight transfer and contact point, plus how the kinetic chain turns your whole body into power.

Week 2, the power serve: a legal underhand motion with leg drive and an upward arc, aiming deep with pace.

Week 3, forehand drives: a full rotation for hard, heavy forehand drives from the baseline and mid-court.

Week 4, backhand drives: building pace on the backhand side with one- or two-handed technique.

Week 5, power with control: using topspin to keep hard shots in, hitting targets, drive returns, and the third-shot drive with a follow-up.

Week 6, live play: serve-and-drive patterns and points that reward smart, controlled power.

Who it’s for: players rated 3.0 and above who want more pace and pressure on their serve and drives. Each week builds on the last, so try to make all six sessions.
