Pen and Paper… OH MY!

It may surprise you but our biggest competitor is simply pen and paper.

Even though we are living in the age of innovation and technology, sports clubs are still are on the lower end of the scale when it comes to adopting and leveraging technology at their club or facility.

The biggest push-back we continue to hear when we talk with clubs about our platform is their sheer “fear of change” or “our members really won’t adapt to this”.  My response – Survey your member base and see how many are without a smart phone, or do not have an email address?  They quickly would find that number is extremely low (<5%).

For those clubs that are willing to step out of their comfort zone and actually embrace club automation see an immediate uptick in:

  • Higher member retention
  • Overall efficiency of their front desk staff
  • Higher event participation
  • More private lessons
  • Growing memberships

This list goes on and on.  And why?

Yes, there will bumps in the road as you transition away from what’s comfortable. You will have to train your staff and your teaching pros.  You will have to educate your members on how to use the mobile app and book online.  You may have to pay credit card fees to process online payments… but isn’t the trade-off of this on-boarding worth much more if it saves you, your staff, and your members valuable time?  I would hope so.
